The United States District Court for the District of Nevada is accepting applications to the Criminal Just Act (CJA) Panel. Attorneys interested in appointment to the CJA Panel must email a completed application and writing sample to NV_CJAResource@fd.org by August 1, 2022. Appointments will be effective November 1, 2022. Applications are available from the Federal Public Defender Office’s CJA website. Questions should be directed to CJA Resource Counsel at NV_CJAResource@fd.org.
Applicants must be members in good standing of the bar of the United States District Court and must have demonstrated experience in the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, the Federal Rules of Evidence, and the United States Sentencing Guidelines. Applicants must have demonstrated an interest in providing criminal defense services and a reputation for competent and vigorous representation. Members of the CJA Panel are required to participate in six (6) hours of training in federal criminal practice each year.
